The Cliff Walk

The Cliff Walk

The Cliff Walk in Ballybunion truly encapsulates the Wild Atlantic Way; breaktaking views, rugged coastlines and the bracing sea breeze. The walk takes you from Ballybunion’s two blue flag beaches, known locally as the men’s beach and ladies beach, high up to the cliff top and around to the nun’s beach. A safely fenced path takes you on a peaceful meandering walk overlooking ledges and outcrops teeming with wildlife. On calm days you might be lucky enough to catch sight of the Shannon’s resident Bottlenose Dolphins as they travel up and down the estuary to feed. Each walk will bring you different experiences, from magical sunsets that light up the sky and bathe you in golden light, to encounters with friendly cows as they graze in the fields adjacent. As you take in the full panorama stretching from the Kerry Mountains to the south, across the estuary to Loop Head in County Clare and back to Bromore Cliffs further up the coast, we dare you not to fall in love with Ballybunion.
