Meenogahane Pier

Meenogahane Pier

Meenogahane is a remote fishing harbor with a stunning backdrop set in a remote location which allows explorers access to a seemingly inaccessible and therefore completely under-appreciated stretch of coastline. Find yourself surrounded by craggy cliff faces and rock formations protruding from the ocean including a massive sea stack that rises up from the middle of the harbor known locally as the Horricles. Imagine setting out fishing in one of the traditional fishing boats pulled up on the pier. This stunning stretch of Kerry coastline is underexplored, under-documented and largely inaccessible, unless by water, so the opportunity to easily access this hidden landscape by car and catch a glimpse of its rugged vistas is well worth venturing off the beaten path.
