There are some amazing golf photographers out there at the moment and the majority of them have made their home on instagram. One fantastic photographer that really caught our eye was Jacob Sjöman. Jacob is an international golf photographer, cinematographer, journalist, author & influencer traveling across the globe.
Contrary to popular belief, not just anyone can photograph a golf course. It may seem very simple to just stand there and shoot the beautiful vistas over and over again. It’s another thing entirely to capture the feeling a golf course gives you, and to shoot it in a way that enchants the viewer. This is why Jacob’s photographs have really captured our attention.Since 2010, the tall Swede Jacob Sjöman has established himself as one of the premier golf course photographers in the world. Shooting from the ground, special high tripods, hanging out from helicopters and operating advanced drones, Jacob brings both fresh and amazing results to each project he undertakes. He has captured and left his own creative mark on some of the most recognized tracks around the world including Lofoten Links, Trump International Golf Links and Ballybunion Golf Course.
Jacob takes to the skies over each golf hole with the intention of being in the right place, at the right height, at the right time, with the right light, to create photographs that inspire. Jacob’s use of light is beyond the capabilities of most, and really showcases golf course architecture at its best. His photographs really give you the opportunity to study the topography of Ballybunion’s expanse of dunes. You can see the intricacies of the holes and how they flow in and out of the dunes. You can see how the Atlantic Ocean serves as a backdrop on a number of occasions. Jacob has won several awards worldwide and in just a few years Jacob has become regarded as one of the best in the world of golf photography. He has a record working with clients such as Golf Digest, Volvo and SAS. Swedish television has paid attention to his work and he is regularly published in magazines all over the world. Here we have highlighted some of his best work at Ballybunion golf club. In our opinion he truly has captured the golf course at its finest.
